With extensive experience in surfing, surf equipment, and coaching, Goose understands that every surfer learns differently. Whether you're stepping onto a board for the first time or looking to improve your technique, he combines expert wave selection, ocean awareness, safety, and hands-on instruction to help you build confidence and progress naturally. Known for his approachable personality, patience, and ability to make learning fun, Goose creates a supportive experience that goes beyond simply standing up on a board—helping students develop the skills, confidence, and appreciation for the ocean that make surfing a lifelong passion.
Meet Goose – Your Surf Instructor
For Goose, surfing isn't just a sport—it's been a way of life since he first stepped onto a surfboard at just four years old in his hometown of Santos, Brazil.
Growing up along Brazil's vibrant coastline, Goose developed a lifelong passion for the ocean, wave riding, and the freedom that comes with surfing. That passion has taken him around the world, exploring different surf cultures, mastering diverse ocean conditions, and sharing his knowledge with surfers of all abilities.
His international teaching experience includes Star Surf Camp in the South of France, along with surf instruction in Australia, Hawaii, and New York. From helping complete beginners catch their first waves to coaching surfers looking to improve their technique, Goose brings patience, enthusiasm, and decades of firsthand ocean experience to every lesson.
His surfing journey spans some of the world's most celebrated destinations, including the Maldives, Mexico, South Africa, Hawaii, Australia, Moliets France, Japan, and his native Brazil. These regions are home to legendary breaks such as Jeffreys Bay in South Africa; Pipeline, Waimea Bay, Sunset Beach, and Jaws (Peʻahi) in Hawaii; Bells Beach, Snapper Rocks, Kirra, The Box, and Shipstern Bluff in Australia; and Kaifu Point and Shidashita in Japan.
Brazil's extraordinary coastline, where his surfing story began, features world-class waves from Maresias, Itacoatiara, and Cacimba do Padre to powerful big-wave locations such as Laje da Jagua, Laje da Avalanche, and Ilha dos Lobos.
Through his travels and teaching, Goose has gained an appreciation for different waves, cultures, and surfing styles—experiences that shape his adaptable, personalized approach to coaching.
His philosophy is simple: surfing should be safe, fun, and accessible to everyone.
Whether you're standing on a board for the very first time, building confidence in the ocean, or developing more advanced skills, Goose meets you where you are. His lessons combine ocean awareness, wave selection, proper technique, and encouragement in a relaxed, supportive atmosphere.
